Louis Dawson bio — condensed as a media resource
Louis “Lou” Dawson was born in 1952, and is among North America’s best known ski mountaineers. He has been inducted into the Colorado Ski Hall of Fame, and named by Powder Magazine as one of “The Most Influential Skiers of the Past 35 Years.” He was a top rock and ice climber of the 1970s, and later became the first person to ski down all fifty-four of Colorado’s 14,000-foot peaks. He has authored numerous books and magazine articles, and is publisher emeritus of the world’s longest running and best known backcountry skiing website, WildSnow.com. Lou has skied and climbed throughout the world. He and his wife live in Colorado.
