Lou’s News #20 – jacketed hardcover, audio, it’s coming together

Post by Lou Dawson | May 20, 2024

Hi All,
News here at Best Peak Press: The jacketed hardcover printing of Avalanche Dreams is ready for prime time.

In other news:
– From the looks of the Audible approval process, the Avy Dreams audiobook is days away!
– The ebook is now distributed by Kobo as well as Amazon.
– All printed versions (paperback, case-laminate and jacketed hard cover) are now available to bookstores and libraries via Ingram.

Our next book event is slated for May 25, 2024, 3 pm, at the Colorado Snowsports Museum in Vail.

Below, a diorama in honor of the museum: Jacketed hardcover version of ‘Dreams, with Grivel 12-point crampons, late 1960s vintage. The spikes are from our yard-art collection, not sure where they originated — probably something my artist mother picked up along the way. Without a cross-bar between the front points to prevent flex and point spread, they’d have never worked well. But they look hardcore, and looks sometimes count. Maybe I’ll wear them to my next book signing, for traction.

Rusty antique crampons, maybe they were my first?
